M.A.T.S. Degree
Completion Program: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How can I finish so quickly?
Participants enrolled in the 36-hour
track can complete the degree in
four semesters by taking classes
one night a week (see the cohort
schedules). The prescribed cohort
schedule makes it possible to earn
nine credits per semester and graduate
within 18 months. Credits granted
for prior graduate studies will
reduce the courses required and
cost of the program.
Participants
pursuing the 48-hour track should
plan to take the foundation courses
in May-August and enroll in the
September cohort. By starting in
May and following the prescribed
cohort schedule, the master's degree
can be finished in five semesters
or within 22 months. Foundation courses
can also be taken by distance learning, directed research or
in traditional classes.
When and where do classes meet?
Classes meet on the AGTS campus in
Springfield, Missouri, from 6-10 p.m. on Thursday
nights.
Can I sit out a course or semester
if I need to?
Yes! It is possible to build your own
schedule under the guidance of your
adviser and work through the program
at your own pace (see degree
requirements and master
course schedule).
When can I start?
You may start at the beginning of a
semester, or you may join any five-week course by registering
two weeks prior to its start.
