Military Chaplaincy and the Master of Divinity
The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary is a premier institution for training military chaplains to serve in the Armed Forces. The Master of Divinity degree at AGTS includes 78 credits, streamlined from the traditional 90-credit program, to enable students to begin full-time ministry one semester sooner. Designed to prepare military chaplains to excel, this program exceeds the military’s 72-credit requirement. AGTS has a proven track record of providing outstanding academic preparation for those serving in all branches of the military and Veteran’s Affairs. In addition to preparing candidates for military chaplaincy, students benefit from mentoring relationships with Springfield area professionals who have a strong backgrounds in Armed Forces chaplaincy ministry. AGTS students who are academically qualified and committed to pursuing military chaplaincy can apply for scholarships with the Assemblies of God Chaplaincy Department.
Outstanding academic preparation is just one benefit of a Master of Divinity degree at AGTS. A significant percentage of the M.Div. students at AGTS are preparing for military chaplaincy. A vibrant Chaplain Candidate Fellowship Group provides fellowship and support to military candidates and their families. The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary is proud to share in the preparation of men and women who are called by God to serve both God and country in chaplaincy ministry.
