Day of Renewal

• September 16
• Service times:  9:30 a.m.; 1:45 p.m.; 6:30 p.m.
• Special guest:  Dr. Jim Bradford, Pastor of Central Assembly of God, Springfield, Missouri
• No classes and offices will be closed.  
• Students and employees are encouraged to attend two of the three services
• Childcare will be provided for the 6:30 p.m. service for children under 5 years of age.

Welcome, Dr. Johan Mostert

• The Practical Theology Department extends a warm welcome to Dr. Johan Mostert who will be joining the AGTS faculty this semester. Dr. Mostert has been a minister, educator, and social welfare advocate in South Africa for over 30 years. We are excited to have him as a part of our community.

AGTS Picnic

Global Missions Track Practicum

• Designed for students interested in cross-cultural ministry and fits most AGTS degree programs

New Library Policies

• As of Monday, August 30, loan periods for books, cassettes, and A/V items have been increased
  • Books—3 weeks & a renewal period of 3 weeks
  • Cassettes & A/V—1 week & a renewal period of 1 week
• After 2 weeks, a book will be subject to recall if another student has requested it
• All reserve materials are subject to immediate recall upon notification if situation warrants it

Average Cost Per Student

• The average educational cost for an AGTS student this year is $12,101
• Tuition and fees cover 67% of this amount.
• Remainder is funded by a $1 million grant from the General Council of the A/G and faithful contributions from churches and individuals.

Fall 2004 Fee Schedule

• Deferred Payment Fee -Accounts not paid in full on or before the first day of class will be charged a deferred payment fee of $50.
• Late payment Fee —All past due accounts will be charged a $25 per month late fee.
• Full Cash Payment Discount —Accounts paid in full on or before the first day of class will receive a 1% discount on the net tuition.  Net tuition is the full tuition charge less tuition discounts and institutional scholarships.

Deferred Payment Schedule

• Deferred payments must be made on or before the following dates in order to avoid $25 per month late fee:
  • September 2, October 15, November 15

Labor Day Weekend Schedule

• The building will be open the following times  during the holiday weekend
  • Friday, September 3–7 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 4–9 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Sunday, September 5–Closed
  • Monday, September 6–Closed
• Regular building hours will resume on Tuesday, September 7

• Deadline:  Thursday, September 17

Free Audit for Spouses

• Spouses of full-time seminarians can audit one class this fall free of charge. Register in the Registrar's Office before September 16.  You can download the "Student Spouse Registration for Unofficial Audit" form at www.agts.edu

Late Loan Applications

• The Financial Aid Office will continue to accept late applications for loans through October 1, with loan funds available by November 10

Perkins Loan Awards

• Deadline to accept or decline a Perkins award: September 10
• After September 10, the Financial Aid Office will award those monies to other students needing funds

  • Ministered in Dublin, Ireland in May
  • Made presentation at Oxford Centre for Mission Studies on the topic, “The Current Flux of Leadership and Emergent Church Models In the USA and Their Transmission Globally”
• Dr. Joseph Castleberry
  • Visited Cuba in June to prepare for leading future construction teams there.  
  • Hosted a construction team and evangelistic campaign in El Salvador in July.  
• Dr. Warren Newberry
  • Assisted new missionaries in Bible school administration in Belize, Central America.
• Dr. Edgar Lee
  • Taught “Spiritual Gifts” course at Asia Theological Centre for Evangelism and Missions (ATCEM), Singapore, May 11-21.
  • Taught course, “Spiritual Formation,” at International Center for Christian Leadership (ICCL) in Kiev, Ukraine, July 5-9.

• Dr. Lori O’Dea —Book 1 of the “Unlimited!...Bible Studies for Today’s Pentecostal Woman” Bible study series produced by the National Women’s Ministries Department, GPH, August 2004.

Faculty Ministry

• Dr. Gary McGee—spoke at the St. Agnes Cathedral, Springfield, Missouri in its Lenten Series.  The topic was “Responding to Pentecostals and Baptists in the Bible Belt.”
• Dr. Roger Cotton and his wife, Bonnie , taught a workshop, “Teaching the Old Testament to Children” at the National Children’s Ministries Leadership Conference, April 28-30
• Dr. James Hernando —preached July 21 in Newark, New Jersey at a national home missions church plant pastored by Paul and Andrea Valerius, AGTS alumnus.
• Dr. Joe Castleberry —preached at First A/G Lufkin, Texas and hosted an ATS visit to the AGTS extension site at American Indian College, Phoenix, Arizona. He taught a seminar in August on “Biblical Principles” for the National Teen Challenge Conference, Springfield, Missouri.
• Dr. Byron Klaus —made presentation for National Teen Challenge Conference in Springfield, Missouri on August 11.  In June, he participated in the ATS Biennium meetings in Southern California.
• Dr. Edgar Lee —conducted two workshops in June at Assemblies of God Financial Services Group (AGFSG) on Spiritual Antidotes for Stress and will do two more in August.
