Evaluations

Final Exam Week
Schedule
Spring finals are scheduled for April 22-26. Please note the special class
schedules during exam week which are listed in this Communique, in the student
handbook and online at www.agts.edu/finals.html.

Faculty News
Barbara Cavaness
was chosen to receive the School of World Missions History Award which will be presented
at the Fuller Seminary Student Awards Convocation on May 29. The History Award honors
the graduate whose thesis or dissertation best handles some significant aspect of the
historical development of the Christian movement. Congratulations Dr. Cavaness!
Stephen Lims case study,
What Is Gods Will? was published by the Journal for the Association
of Case Teaching, Fall 2001 and can be found online
as a small PDF file.
Edgar Lees article, There
is One True God: Father, Son, & Holy Spirit, was published in the Pentecostal
Evangel on March 24. This is part of a series called The 16 Foundational Truths
Series All articles will be written by AGTS faculty and administration. It can be
found online as
a small PDF file.
Gary B. McGee spoke at the Institute
for Mature Learning at Drury University on March 26 on the subject: "Hymnody of Foreign
Missions." The presentation focused on how missionary hymnody enlarged the global
consciousness of Americans at the turn of the 20th century.

Railey attended the Society for Pentecostal Studies Meeting at Southeastern College
of the Assemblies of God in Lakeland Florida, March 14-16, 2002.
Three responded to papers: Gary McGee
to a paper by Robert Gallagher from Wheaton College Graduate School entitled Zinzendorf
and the Early Moravians: Pioneers in Leadership Selection and Training; Edgar
Lee to a paper by Charles Estridge from Southeastern College on Ecumenism and
Spirituality; and Jim Harris to Doug Slocumbs
paper, Spirituality in Family Therapy: A Pentecostal Perspective.

Grades Available
May 10
Spring grades will be available in the student mailboxes on May 10. If
you prefer to have grades mailed to you, contact the Records Office (admissions@agts.edu).
Summer Registration
May 6
The next possible date to register for summer or fall is Monday, May 6.
Preregistered students should make any summer course changes prior to that date to avoid
financial penalties (admissions@agts.edu).

The Records Office needs your forwarding address, telephone, and email.

Federal Financial
Aid Deadline April 15
The secondary deadline for fall/spring federal financial aid is April 15.
Benefits include:
- Electronic
FAFSA may allow priority consideration.
- Perkins loans are awarded based on funds availability.
- First disbursement of Stafford loans are available three business days
after the first day of class.
To qualify, the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid and other required
forms must be electronically submitted and processed by May 15. The final deadline
providing fewer benefits for you is July 15. If you have any questions, call or email
the Financial Aid Office at 417-268-1028 (loans@agts.edu).
Summer Stafford
Loans Available
There is still time to apply for a student loan for this summer. The final
deadline for completing the process is April 1. If you are taking three credit hours for
summer and need financial aid, please contact the Financial Aid Office immediately (417-268-1028
or loans@agts.edu).
Financial Aid
Exit Interviews
The U.S. Department of Education requires all graduates or non-returning
students who received a Stafford Loan while at AGTS to attend a Financial Aid Exit Interview.
Students receiving aid have two selections for this 30-minute session: April 10 or 11
at 1:30 p.m. in room 225. Non-graduates must inform the Financial Aid Office now so that
the proper forms can be prepared in advance (call 417-268-1028 or loans@agts.edu).

Special Chapel
Service
John Bueno, Executive Director of Department of World Missions, will speak
in chapel on Wednesday, April 3. The entire AGTS community is encouraged to attend this
chapel service.
Summer Community
Worship and Prayer Services
There will be summer community worship and prayer services held every Tuesday
of summer school during the lunch break from 11:50 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. in the chapel. Services
will start Tuesday, May 14 and will run through Tuesday, June 25 (except June 4). The
entire AGTS community is welcome to join in a time of worship, reading of the Word, exhortation,
and corporate and individual prayer.

Prayer for the
Muslim World
Everyone is invited to join in "Praying for the Muslims" every
Friday at Noon upstairs in the Prayer Chapel. For more information please contact Katherine

AGTS Community
Prayer
There will be a general prayer time in the AGTS Prayer Chapel every Thursday
at 8:30 p.m. The whole AGTS community is encouraged to participate in this time of spiritual
renewal.
Art Extraordinaire
Special thanks to those who have brought pictures. We need more!!! If you
have a framed piece of art or a sculpture you would like to display in the Student Lounge,
please bring it to the Sac Office ASAPattention: Kimberly. Please type your name and
any pertinent information on a 2 x 1 card to be displayed with the piece. The
artwork will stay indefinitely or as long as you choose. Please call Kimberly Fredricks
at 417-877-1704 or the SAC Office at 417-268-1066 if you have any questions.
- The Victory Mission Ministry will meet Thursday, April 25 at 5:15
p.m. in the Great Hall at AGTS. Contact Michael Ramey (417-866-8875) for more information.
- The Nursing Home Ministry will meet April 7 and 21 at 2:15 p.m.
at the Springfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Contact Sharon Erion (417-862-4649)
if you would like to attend.
- The Prison Ministry will not meet this month.
- The Hospital Ministry is now meeting in 2 locations: Cox Walnut
Lawn (S. National) and Cox North on Sunday, April 14. Please contact Raquel Johnson (417-877-1714)
for more information.
- The Chapel Worship Team meets a few minutes before chapel on Tuesday-Thursday
every week. Contact Jonathan Distaulo (417-869-9197) to get involved.
- Open Gym occurs every Thursday from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Come get involved
in a game of basketball and/or volleyball. Contact Cheryl Adcock (417-343-8491) for more
information.
New Student Ministry
Possibilities
If anyone is interested in doing Street Ministry, please contact Patrice

If you are interested in ministering at nursing homes on Wednesday evenings,
please contact Heather-Gale Belfon at 417-883-9024.

Parent's Night
Out
SAC will sponsor an all community Parent's Night Out on Friday, April 5
from 6:30-9 p.m. Parents are encouraged to sign their children up outside the chapel doors.
Please check your student boxes for more detailed information.
SAC Lunch
The 2001-2002 SAC team will be hosting their last SAC lunch on Tuesday,
April 9 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Student Lounge. The entire AGTS community is welcome
to attend. Menu: pizza, pop, and dessert.
Administration,
Faculty & Staff Appreciation Week
The Student Advisory Council is providing an opportunity for students to
show their appreciation and thanks to the AGTS Administration, Faculty and Staff from
April 8-11. A basket with slips of paper and a current list of all the Administration,
Faculty and Staff will be placed outside the chapel doors allowing students to write their
notes of appreciation and thanks to them. Please check your student boxes for more info.
Special Chapels
The 2001-2002 SAC team will conduct their last chapel service on Thursday,
April 11. Special gifts and awards will be given out to students for their servant-leadership
in SAC and the AGTS community. All students are encouraged to attend this special end
of the year SAC chapel service.
The 2002-03 SAC team will be introduced in the chapel service on Wednesday,
April 17. All students are encouraged to attend this special chapel to hear the vision
of SAC for this upcoming year.

Leadership Roundtable
Conference
Byron Klaus, Earl
Creps and Randy Walls attended the AGTS Leadership Roundtable Conference with Brian
McLaren in Sacramento, Calif., March 4-5, 2002.
Brian McLaren, Dr. Klaus and Dr. Creps taught on Emerging Models of Ministry
in the 21st Century. There were 56 in attendance.
