Posting Events
 
One of the primary things you will most likely be doing is posting events onto your calendar once it is installed. To do this, first go to the index.html page of the admin folder and choose "post an event." This will bring you to the posting interface.

  • You will first select which posting administrator you are from the list. This list is automatically updated from the currenly administrators in the database.
  • Then, you select the date for the first occurence of the event. Next, indicate whether this event will be a recurring or one-time event. Currently, the calendar supports events which recurr weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly.
  • If this event is recurring, you must indicate the duration over which it will keep happening. If it recurrs weekly or bi-weekly, the number you enter in the box will indicate the number of weeks of recurrence. If it happens monthly, then the box indicates the number of months.
  • Enter the title of the event. This is what will appear on the calendar which people see. They will click on this text to pop up a new window with the full text.
  • Finally, enter the full text for the event into the text area. This is what people will see in the pop-up window.

When you press the Submit button, this event will be committed to the database and added to the calendar for people to see.
