Women in Leadership Cohort
Doctor of Ministry and Master of Arts in Christian Ministries

Next Women in Leadership Cohort Begins Spring 2011!

For more information email Ava Oleson in the Doctor of Ministry Office or call 1-417-268-1082.

About the Program

In February 2009, AGTS launched its first ever Women In Leadership Cohort! Our Women’s Leadership Cohort, Doctor of Ministry Program is also available as a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry, Master of Divinity Equivalency or non-credit certificate at AGTS. It is truly a unique educational experience.

  • The dynamics of the program include a cohort model involving women leaders from diverse ministry backgrounds in three four-five day classes per year, each February, June and October. Our participants usually finish the program in three or four years, but the benefits begin on the first day!

  • The cohort experience at AGTS can be boiled down to one word: transformation. The exponential influence experienced through the synergy of the participants who are stellar Christian leaders, is life changing, while relationships are formed that last a lifetime!

  • The practical outcome of the program is that the influence, opportunities and ministry effectiveness of our graduates is greatly expanded, representing what we call leaders worth following.

  • Our fundamental values of this program are rooted in academic excellence, innovation while being missionally engaged, and most importantly, leadership in Christian thought and action.

Developing into ‘a leader worth following’ is considered in the light of Pentecostal spirituality. Whatever the ministry platform, your success depends largely on your ability to communicate to a variety of audiences. This course provides advanced training in all critical areas of teaching and speaking for life change. Jim Bradford, senior pastor of Central Assembly of God, Springfield and Carol Kent of Cornerstone University and Western Seminary will be co-teaching.

The success of an externally focused ministry depends on creating authentic relationships while being useful in forming missional partnerships. It will teach how ministers can build relational bridges; how the Church can transform lives as people both see and hear God’s power and grace at work in their world. Case studies in reaching out to the marginalized of society will include issues such as: trafficking of women, compassion ministry, AIDS, crisis pregnancy, the Muslim next door, social justice, urban ministry, etc.
