the Doctor of Missiology (D.Miss.)
Program
"...the harvest is plentiful..."
Who will cast the vision for a new generation of Pentecostal
missionaries? Who will study the times and plot the strategies,
teach the students and write the books that will shape the
hearts and minds of tomorrow’s missionaries? The AGTS Doctor
of Missiology Program has risen to serve these leaders by:
- Enhancing missionary practice and resources
- Preparing participants to teach missiology at any level
- Building foundations for training missionaries overseas
- Equipping leaders for compassion ministries
The D.Miss. at AGTS offers tracks in Intercultural Studies (IS)
and Relief and Development (RD).
L. John Bueno, executive director of Assemblies of God World
Missions, has this to say about the Doctor of Missiology Program:
“I recently received the wonderful news that AGTS has
a new program for a doctorate in missiology. I want to recommend
it highly to anyone who is serving in ministry overseas.
I believe this is another great instrument God is giving us in
the preparation of our leadership throughout the world. I personally
appreciate anything that can be done to assist this process and
to make it available to all interested servants of the Lord.
The program enjoys our full approval and strongest recommendation.”
Alton Garrison, executive director of Assemblies of God US
Missions, adds his endorsement to the program:
"U.S. Missions is excited
about the potential of the AGTS Doctor of Missiology Program
for equipping visionary leaders for our future. The program's
emphasis on bringing together both spiritual anointing, deep
understanding and practical commitment to reaching the lost
is a truly Pentecostal approach to training committed ‘scholars
with rolled-up sleeves.’ I strongly recommend the program
to anyone who wants to renew and empower their vision for intercultural
ministry in America."
