http://riversouth.org/

RiverSouth Community Church (Virginia) has a great looking site built around a rafting theme. You can almost feel the spray! Their appeal: “Imagine a church where you can explore Christianity and discover answers to your spiritual questions, completely without pressure. Where the atmosphere is relaxed, the dress is casual, the message is relevant, and you can be as anonymous as you want.” They don’t have services, they have “Exploration Events.”  (Posted 7/8/02)

http://www.the-aok.org

A United Methodist congregation that describes itself as another “cure for the common church.” Has a link for “Women’s Ministry” on the homepage, a rarity in the so-far male-dominated emerging church scene. Located near St. Louis, MO. Their calling card: “we’ve ditched the choir for a band.”  (Posted 7/8/02)

http://www.flipsidechurch.com/

Evolving (again) from a Baptist college ministry, this church within a church has just launched on its own. Largely young adults. Another super-looking site. The church defines itself as, “A group of people gathered together to turn this world upside down for Jesus Christ.”  (Posted 11/5/2001)

Community Church of Joy (Glendale Arizona) is one of the megachurch entries. It’s interesting how the Web levels churches. From the pages it’s almost impossible to gauge size levels.
