Faculty Mentoring
AGTS faculty members bring more than advanced degrees
and academic skills to the classroom. They also bring
a deep concern for the student as an individual with a
life outside of the classroom. They care deeply about
the spiritual formation of the student and long to see
each become all that God wants him or her to be. Because
of smaller class sizes, students have more opportunity
for one-on-one interaction. Mentoring occurs in classes,
in the hallways, during community fellowship and in ministry
settings.
“I believe we are
created to learn and that education is a life walk to be
shared. As a missionary-educator, I seek to honor Christ
by journeying with others and empowering them to actualize
their God-given potential. My philosophy of teaching and
learning is a dynamic blend of spiritual insight and disciplined
academics.”
—Dr. Dene P. Wood, Visiting
Professor of Missions and Education
“The professors have a commitment and dedication
to students like no other school I’ve attended.
I could go to any of my professors and talk with them
openly about any issue in my life. They have given me
the tools to further my walk with Christ and lead others
capabably.”
