Hands-on Ministry
Cutting-edge ministry calls for
radical leadership—leadership
that’s willing to truly serve. Whether it’s
by cleaning bathrooms, learning a new language, building
a house, comforting an AIDS baby, finding common ground
with those who oppose you or sharing the glory with a
team, sincere service illustrates Christ-like love. That
kind of love, when powered by the Spirit and supported
by genuine humility, will always find a way through even
the most insurmountable odds. It can move entire communities
in new directions and influence cultures toward God.
Through various student ministry groups, missions trips
and required practicums—not to mention the numerous
churches in the area eager to put students to work—students
have many opportunities to start “hands-on ministry” before
they leave AGTS.
"The words passive and leadership cannot be used
in the same sentence. Twenty-first century leaders gravitate
to desperate need and global vision. As president at AGTS
I'm committed to a seminary where students are lead to
humbly serve and confidently trust the Spirit's empowerment."
