The AGTS Library's Electronic Resources

Bible Windows

Bible Windows provides access to the Analytical Greek New Testament and the Hebrew Old Testament as well as the Greek Old Testament (Septuagint) and the Latin Vulgate. It will help you parse Greek and Hebrew texts.

  American Psychological Association (APA) Institutional Access: PsycINFO & APA Full-Text Article Database

American Psychological Association (APA) Institutional Access contains two databases. The PsycINFO Direct for Institutions database is a collection of electronically stored bibliographic references (most with abstracts or content summaries) to psychological literature from 1887 to the present. The APA Full-Text Article Database contains the full text of articles from APA journals, from 1989 to the present.

  ATLAS

ATLAS is a project created for religion scholars by religion scholars. It provides online versions of the entire runs of leading theological journals (back to 1949), and provides a link between an academic discipline's comprehensive index (the ATLA Religion Database: RDB) and full-text electronic copies of its journals.

Religion Index Database is now fully integrated in the ATLAS program. Search citations, abstracts, and full-text articles all at the same time.

RIM Online (Research in Ministry)—An ATLA database that replaces the print version (1981-1998) with the same name. The database covers the years 1981-present and is updated quarterly. Description: “RIM indexes and abstracts project reports and theses from over 50 Doctor of Ministry programs accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada…Links have also been added to records for schools that also participate in the Theological Research Exchange Network.”

eHRAF

The electronic Human Relations Area Files (eHRAF) is a collection of ethnography. It covers selected cultures from around the world and contains information on all aspects of cultural and social life. It is a compilation of mostly descriptive documents written by anthropologists, sociologists, other social scientists, travelers, and missionaries. The unique feature of the HRAF system is that every paragraph of every source is marked by subject using over 760 subject categories (OCM-Outline of Cultural Materials), so that information can be rapidly retrieved.

Hebrew Tutor

Hebrew Tutor teaches over a thousand words used in Tanach and daily Hebrew conversation. The program grades and corrects mistakes. It will also keeps track of progress, monitoring your own improvement. It will pronounce the words in a clear human voice with the correct Israeli inflection.

Theology (history)

ProQuest Digital Dissertations
 

Collection of doctoral dissertations and master's theses. The database represents the work of authors from over 1,000 graduate schools and universities. They add some 47,000 new dissertations and 12,000 new theses to the database each year.

The database includes bibliographic citations for materials ranging from the first U.S. dissertation, accepted in 1861, to those accepted as recently as last semester. Citations for dissertations published from 1980 forward also include 350-word abstracts written by the author. Citations for master's theses from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts. The full text of more than one million of these titles is available in paper and microform formats. Institutional subscribers to ProQuest Digital Dissertations receive online access to the complete file of dissertations in digital format starting with titles published from 1997 forward.

Religious & Theological Abstracts
 

Religious & Theological Abstracts provides the scholarly world with abstracts of articles appearing in periodical literature in the fields of religion and theology.

Coverage includes a wide range of journals including Christian, Jewish, and other world religions, and provides English language abstracts of research in French, German, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Afrikaans, Hebrew, Italian, and Spanish.

We have access to a new “Internet Database” called RIM Online (Research in Ministry). This is an ATLA database that replaces the print version (1981-1998) with the same name. The database covers the years 1981-present and is updated quarterly. The following is a description of the database from ATLA: “RIM indexes and abstracts project reports and theses from over 50 Doctor of Ministry programs accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada…Links have also been added to records for schools that also participate in the Theological Research Exchange Network.”

The database can be located in the “Internet Databases” folders under the title “DMin Research in Ministry” and the URL is http://rim.atla.com/star/rimonline_login.htm.
