News—Melody Palm inaugurated as full professor of counseling psychology
Dr. Melody Palm, director of AGTS counseling programs, was inaugurated as full professor of counseling psychology on October 7, 2011.
A licensed minister, Palm has a burden for the development of effective women leaders and ministers. As a licensed clinical psychologist and psychological health service provider, her commitment to the practitioner model keeps her actively involved in clinical practice, supervision and forensic psychology. She is the founder and executive director of Still Waters Counseling and serves as a consultant to Health Care Ministries and AGWM.
"The attainment of the rank of full professor is no small feat," said Dr. Stephen Lim, AGTS academic dean. "Unless new faculty members have already held the rank of full professor at a previous institution, they must teach at AGTS for at least five years to attain this rank. They must also achieve the respect both of their students and colleagues through the quality of their teaching and through the example of Godly character that they set. They must not only hold a doctoral degree, but they must also publish substantial scholarly work that proves their ongoing commitment to research and the discovery and dissemination of knowledge and insight."
Palm earned her B.A. at Bethany College (now Bethany University). She then went on to pursue an M.A. at AGTS and a Psy.D. from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology.
