Springfield, Mo.—October 9, 2006—The public is invited
to attend a seminar, sponsored by the Assemblies of God Theological
Seminary (AGTS), featuring Dr. Earl Creps and his new book Off-Road
Disciplines: Spiritual Adventures for Missional Leaders. Leonard
Sweet of George Fox University said, “This is one of the
most exciting books I have read in years. It shifts our focus
from doing church to being church, and promises to be a standard
reference in all future discussions of missional leadership.” The
seminar will take place October 27 (9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.) at AGTS
in Springfield, Mo.
Dr. Creps will explore 12 central spiritual
disciplines—six
personal and six organizational—that can reshape Christian
leaders and their ministries to engage the culture around
them. He will provide a map of the cultural terrain leaders
must navigate, with insights on how the process of personal
spiritual formation can transform organizations.
Off-Road
Disciplines was released in September 2006 to an eager
audience by Jossey-Bass and Leadership Network.
Todd
Hunter, national director of Alpha USA and former national
director of Vineyard USA said, “Creps not only knows
what is going on today, he teaches us how to engage today’s
people as well… The chapter on ‘reverse mentoring’ is
worth the price of the book.”
Earl Creps, Ph.D., D.Min.,
is the director of doctoral studies at AGTS. He is a former
pastor, ministries consultant and university professor,
is a sought-after speaker and innovative leader.
The registration
deadline is October 20. Call AGTS at 800-467-AGTS or register
online at www.agts.edu/off_road_seminar. The $75 fee includes
