Springfield, Mo.—September 4, 2007—
On August 15,
2007,
Dr. Stephen Lim assumed the role of acting academic dean for
the 2007-2008 academic year at the Assemblies of God Theological
Seminary (AGTS).
After more than 30 years of effective pastoral ministry in
multicultural settings and 7 years as professor of leadership
and ministry at AGTS, Dr. Lim brings his considerable arsenal
of gifts and skills to bear as academic dean. He spent more
than 27 years guiding one fledgling church to maturity. Along
the way, he has served as a college and seminary instructor
and a denominational leader with service on Northern California-Nevada
district presbytery and the Bethany College (now Bethany University)
board of trustees. He currently is a general presbyter of the
Assemblies of God, representing Chinese-American churches.
“AGTS is committed to academically vigorous and relevant
education,” said AGTS President Byron D. Klaus. “Steve
Lim brings the academic skill and ministry sense necessary
to effectively serve AGTS and its mission.”
Lim earned a B.S. from University of California, Berkley, and
an M.Div. and D.Min. from Fuller Theological Seminary. He follows
former academic dean Dr. Joseph Castleberry who resigned in
May 2007 to assume the role of president at Northwest University
of the Assemblies of God, in Kirkland, Wash.
AGTS is one of the world’s
leading Pentecostal seminaries. For more information about
AGTS or if you would rather receive press releases from AGTS
by e-mail, contact Jennifer Hall (417-268-1024 or promotions@agts.edu).
