On February 7, 2006, AGTS hosted Nigerian
artist Ibiyinka Alao. Alao was named Nigeria’s
Ambassador of Art in 2001 after winning a prestigious
United Nations International Art Competition. He has
toured the world displaying his work, which often opens
doors to discussions of biblical principles with non-Christians
in universities and top levels of world governments.
Alao’s African culture
and his people’s ancient
history are reflected in the colors and imagery he uses.
Throughout his childhood, his father encouraged him to
express himself through painting. The stories his father
used to impart moral wisdom are often the subject of
Alao’s work. |
