In May, Dr. Benny C. Aker retired after 16 years as
professor of New Testament and exegesis. “Dr. Aker’s
influence on me has been profound,” said Keith
Gardner, AGTS student. “He has transformed the
way I understand Scripture...and the Christian life.”
Dr.
Aker and his wife, Barbara, established the Powers-Aker
Scholarship fund, which provides financial assistance
to students who are committed to evangelization.

Dr. Debbie Gill (M.Div. 1978, M.A. in
Biblical Languages 1979) joined the faculty in May as
professor of New Testament exposition. She holds a Ph.D.
from Fuller Theological Seminary.
Gill has taught New
Testament, Greek and homiletics at the undergraduate
and graduate levels. She has served in missions in
the Asia Pacific and was senior pastor of a cell-based
church in Minnesota. Before coming to AGTS, she was the
AG’s
commissioner on discipleship. |
Dr. Angela C. Reid (M.A. in Counseling
2000) will join the faculty as assistant professor of
counseling psychology in fall 2006.
Licensed as a professional
counselor, psychologist and minister, Dr. Reid has
an impressive record of clinical practice, undergraduate
and graduate level teaching, program administration
and ministry involvement. Reid holds a Psy.D. from Forest
Institute of Professional Psychology. |
