West Point Chaplain Appointed New AG Military
Representative
|
“My wife, Judy, and I
praise God for this opportunity to serve.“
—Scott McChrystal |
Chaplain (COL) Scott McChrystal (M.Div. 1984) took over as the
new AG military representative on September 1 after Chaplain
Charles Marvin retired. Joining the military in 1970, McChrystal
has served on many fronts, including Vietnam and the first Gulf
war. A chaplain for the last 21 years, McChrystal has been the
staff chaplain at the United States Military Academy in West
Point for the past seven.
“Over the coming months,” said McChrystal, “I
will attempt to increase communication and cooperation between
chaplains and our Fellowship. With the ongoing War on Terrorism
and the heightened use of National Guard and Reserves, virtually
every community in America is providing men and women to the
war effort. We need to maximize our outreach to reach more soldiers
and their families with the gospel. With the combined efforts
of chaplains, districts, churches and AG schools, I believe we
can make great inroads.”
