Class of 1976

Shelby Pearcy retired after 27 years as an army reserve chaplain and 31 years as a full-time Veterans Affairs Medical Center chaplain. He is now involved in a part-time prison ministry.

Class of 1977

Puthiyava Rajamoni is the general superintendent of the South India AG and the missions director for the General Council of the AG in India.

Class of 1978


James Hernando wrote a chapter on continuationism and the response to cessationism in Preserving Evangelical Unity: Welcoming Diversity in Non-Essentials (WipfandStock 2009).


Joe Wilmoth is assistant professor of human development and family studies at Mississippi State University and chair of the Religion and Family Life Section of the National Council on Family Relations.


John Johnson is a marriage educator and workshop provider for the Oklahoma Marriage Initiative in Edmond, Okla.

Class of 1980

Harvey Herman is the national staff training and resource director for Chi Alpha ministries.

Class of 1983

Robert Angles is the executive director of Alabama Teen Challenge, Inc., in Lincoln, Ala.

Chuck Lormis is the missions pastor at First AG in Pekin, Ill.

Will Mihuc retired as the chaplain and director of pastoral care at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson, Fla.. He is adjunct professor at Trinity College of Florida in Trinity, Fla.

Class of 1984

Scott McChrystal, military representative for the AG Chaplaincy Department, wrote a book for soldiers called Daily Strength for the Battle: You, God’s Word, 5 Minutes.

Class of 1986

Steven Davidson is an adjunct faculty member at Native American Bible College in Shannon, N.C.

Class of 1987

Gaylan Claunch is the assistant district superintendent and missions director for the North Texas District of the AG. He is enrolled in the Ph.D in Intercultural Studies Program at AGTS.


Dave Johnson wrote Led by the Spirit: The History of the American Assemblies of God Missionaries in the Philippines.


Craig Keener wrote Romans as part of the New Covenant Commentary Series.

Randy Quackenbush is the executive pastor at Lakewood Church in Indianapolis, Ind.

J. Duane Rice is pastor at Berea Temple AG in St. Louis, Mo.

Class of 1988

Perry LaHaie released his sixth CD, titled Endless Fields, distributed by Infinity Music Distribution. Perry also works with Frontiers, a ministry that reaches Muslims in more than 45 countries.


Jim Meadows is an evangelist speaking at revival services and leadership development seminars, a freelance corporate writer and a training team manager with ADT Security Services in Kansas City, Mo. Jim completed an MBA with the University of Phoenix in October 2009.

Class of 1989

David Willemsen completed the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C., in October 2009. He completed this, his sixth marathon, to honor his son, Josh, a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Class of 1990

Brian Nutt is the pastor at Grace Fellowship in Kilgore, Texas.

Brian Whidden pastors Calvary AG in Elkhart, Ind.

Class of 1992

Keith Edwards is a teaching pastor overseeing ministries, discipleship and missions at Trinity AG in Lutherville, Md.

Douglas and Beth Loftis pastor Cornerstone AG in Windham, Maine.

Ross McElroy is the staff pastor responsible for discipleship ministries, counseling ministries, support groups and general pastoral care at Mount Hope Church in Lansing, Mich.

Class of 1993

Lewis Shelton was inaugurated president of Bethany University in Scotts Valley, Calif., October 2009.

Class of 1996


Ernest Strong received a D.Min. from Oral Roberts University in 2008.

Class of 1997

Richard Brown is an active-duty army chaplain stationed at Fort Riley, Kan.

Paul Deutsch, with his wife, Lisa, is a chaplain at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, Mo.

Robert Patterson is a U.S. Army chaplain stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.

Class of 1998

Doug Bursch hosts The Fairly Spiritual Show on KGNW 820 AM in Seattle, Wash.

Class of 1999

Randy Hedlun completed a doctor of theology program from the University of South Africa in May 2009. He is the dean of Global University’s Berean School of the Bible in Springfield, Mo.

Class of 2001

Stephen Gyermeh is the pastor and founder of the Church of the Living God in Hyattsville, Md.

Mike and Mena Loya welcomed daughter Elle in April 2009. Mike is an adjuct faculty member at the University of Phoenix and Everest College in Springfield, Mo.

Class of 2003

Ebby Anyamba married Ashley Haywood on June 20, 2009. Stephen Gyermeh (’01) and Warren Newberry (’85) officiated.

Bob Caldwell completed a Ph.D. in exegetical theology from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo., in August 2009. His dissertation title is “‘Wait for Me’: Appreciating the Curious Juxtaposition of Zephaniah 3:8 and 9.”

Dale Jensen is a faculty member and reference librarian at Evangel University in Springfield, Mo.

Frank and Sandy Luke welcomed son Jonathan in August 2009. Tina Schaeufele received an MBA from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio, in May 2009.

Jaime Villacorta, with wife, Kimberly (’02), is a chaplain for the U.S. Army National Guard for the state of Florida.

Class of 2004

Cliff Neuman is a U.S. Army chaplain stationed in Japan.

Class of 2005

Sam Farina joined the AG Church Multiplication Network as the national coaching facilitator.

Class of 2006

Norman Lindsay retired in September 2009 from pastoring South Anchorage AG, Alaska, to spend his time mentoring, coaching and training pastors at the Alaska School of Ministry.

Ken Nolen is a chaplain at Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare in Salinas, Calif., and senior pastor at King City Community Church in King City, Calif.

Class of 2007

Brian and Debbie Fulthorp welcomed son Samuel Alan James in August 2009.

Jody Harlow is a U.S. Army chaplain serving in Iraq, based out of Fort Riley, Kan.

Shoji and Leigh-Ann McGhee are helping to establish a new church in Columbus, Ohio, pastored by Adam Long (’01).

Class of 2008

Nathan Gonzalez married Andrea Grace Roberts in August 2009. He is working toward a Th.M. from Princeton Theological Seminary.

John and Joan Hembree are lead pastors at Harrison Avenue AG in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Gary and Carol Pilcher pastor LifePointe Church in Ames, Iowa. Gary is the assistant superintendent for the AG Iowa Ministry Network.

Nathaniel Rhoads pastors Word of Light Fellowship in Winnemucca, Nev.

Class of 2009

Melody Pantuso married Jonathan Gitthens in August 2009.

Sarah Cotton married Matthew Rutledge in June 2009. She coauthored an article titled “Crime Presentation and Eyewitness’ Gender Influences on Recall Accuracy and Confidence” published in Journal of Psychological Inquiry.
