News: AGTS releases second volume of reflective commentary by President Byron D. Klaus
The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS) has released its fourth book in the Encounter: The Pentecostal Ministry Series—a collection of reflective commentary on contemporary issues entitled And That's the Way I See It!, Volume 2 by AGTS President Byron D. Klaus.
In his introduction to this book, Dr. Klaus, writes, "This second volume reflects on 16 years of regular efforts to look at how current events should be opportunities to see God’s continuing redemptive ministry in this world. Sometimes that is more evident than at other times, when we might even query whether God is anywhere near to the current episodic narratives of violence and hopelessness.”
And That's the Way I See It! reflects serious thinking about critical issues that have emerged over the last sixteen years. These commentaries offer insights that take culture seriously and the Bible authoritatively. They have been delivered electronically to thousands of friends of AGTS, printed as op-ed pieces for the Springfield News-Leader and aired as hundreds of radio commentaries.
Byron D. Klaus served as president of AGTS from July 1999 to June 2015. He is the seminary's longest serving president. Under his leadership, AGTS added 3 doctoral programs, a Master of Pastoral Leadership, a Master of Theology and 12 certificate programs. His commitment to shaping servant leaders has empowered the ministry of AGTS alumni, who in turn, have influenced tens of thousands of people around the world.
Previous to assuming the AGTS presidency, he provided pastoral leadership for local churches in California, Texas and Illinois, served as vice president of Latin America ChildCare, and served on the faculty and administration of Vanguard University of Southern California. He earned his doctor of ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.
